"Storms and Sunshine" - Handlettered Print - Suicide Prevention
In April of 2014, I lost my younger cousin, Austin, to suicide. It came as a total shock and I don't know that my family or I will ever totally heal from this loss. We've found ways to remember him (many of us have tattoos to honor him, or we all think of him when we see sugar skulls or sunflowers) but nothing will ever be able to fill that hole in our lives that we have from missing him every day.
It is estimated that one in four Americans struggle with Mental Health issues. I, myself, struggled with depression and self harm when I was younger. Many people don't know that about me, but that's just the point - you might not even know when someone is affected by mental health issues.
I wanted to do something to help bring awareness to suicide prevention and end stigma around mental health, so a portion of proceeds from this design will be donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in Austin's name.
Please help me end the stigma around mental health and help me raise money for suicide prevention.
This design reads "the darkest storms are still followed by sunshine".
